What is a Mommy Makeover?

Pregnancy and breastfeeding can have quite an impact on your body. Often your breasts are less firm than before. Sometimes, you may have a deposit of fat on your stomach, and your abdominal wall may have stretched.   Basically, your body is out of balance, and that’s why we have the Mommy Makeover.

This treatment initially came from the United States and has been a very popular procedure over there, for years. The ‘Mommy Makeover’ is a combination of surgical procedures, such as the breast correction, the tummy tuck, the hip and the thigh correction. The plastic surgeon will recommend the surgery that best meets your needs.

*The doctor will determine if the treatment is necessary for medical reasons. * This treatment falls within the tax-exempt medical care as stated in article 11-1-g Tax Law, 1968.

NB: Payment for your treatment should be paid in full no later than four weeks in advance.

What are the advantages of having a Mommy Makeover done?

  • A flat stomach again
  • Beautiful breasts again
  • A weekend of peace and quiet in the recovery hotel
  • Time for yourself – and take it!

When am I a suitable candidate for a Mommy Makeover?

During your first consultation, the plastic surgeon will determine whether you are a suitable candidate for a Mommy Makeover. The surgeon will ask you questions regarding your health, medical history and any possible medication you may be using. Should you use blood thinners, then you should stop using them at least one week before your treatment.

After pregnancy, you may have stretched abdominal skin, weakened abdominal muscles, sagging breasts, reduced volume in the breasts and excess fat deposits in certain areas of your body.

You will be able to make the right choice after your first consultation. We understand that we ask you to process a lot of information during your first consultation. However, please don’t hesitate to contact us again afterwards should you need to go through things once more.

MOMMY MAKEOVER

What is a Mommy Makeover?

It is often a combination of surgeries. The operating techniques used differ per person. A tummy tuck combined with a breast lift may be the best solution for one person, but someone else may benefit more from a breast augmentation. Sometimes, liposuction may be the right solution. Should you have already discussed with your doctor which operating technique best meets your needs, you can find additional information on the various procedures on our website.

Consultation

After your initial consultation with the plastic surgeon, you will meet with our consultant. The consultant will discuss everything to do with your Mommy Makeover.

We will also discuss what bothers you the most about your body and what you would like to do about this. In addition, you will be informed about the various methods and operating techniques that can be used. We will look to see which method or technique best meets your needs and inform you about what you can expect in terms of end results, what the possible risks of the procedure are and the necessary aftercare. You will always receive honest advice and be informed clearly about the treatment and what needs to be done in the period afterwards.

What can I expect after having had a Mommy Makeover done?

A Mommy Makeover is, for many, a welcome intervention with guaranteed beautiful results. This procedure allows every woman to feel great about her own body again, even after pregnancy.

Some results are visible straight away. Your new contours are clearly visible after the operation. However, the final results won’t be visible until after three to 12 months – only then will the body have fully recovered from the surgery. The removed skin and fat will not return. However, if you overeat, then the remaining fat cells will grow and so will you.

NB: A Mommy Makeover is not a technique to lose weight. To enjoy your figure the most, we advise you to eat healthily and get enough physical exercise.

You will experience a tugging sensation in the skin and muscles around your abdomen, for the first few days after your Mommy Makeover. As with any operation, the operated area will feel sensitive, sore and may feel tight. You won’t be able to do much in the first week after your tummy tuck because you will have significant muscle pain which will prevent you from doing your daily activities. Your breasts may swell for a couple of days. This swelling should subside by the third day.

Smoking
For a wound to heal beautifully, quickly, and as nicely as possible, it must get enough oxygen-rich blood flowing through it. That’s why we advise you not to smoke before the operation. The nicotine in the cigarettes narrows the blood vessels which in turn reduces the blood flow to the wound. Not only this, but tobacco smoke contains carbon monoxide which restricts the amount of oxygen in your blood. Finally, we would like you to be aware that smoking affects your condition and weakens your immune system. All these factors increase the risk and frequency of complications in the healing process for those who do smoke rather than for those who don’t. We advise you to stop smoking at least four weeks before your operation and until at least two weeks afterwards.
